Dual battery systems
A dual battery or battery managment system gives you the freedom to use electrical power from your AWD to power a portable fridge, camp site lighting, stereo or kitchen appliances without risking a flat starting battery. Our systems come with a life time warranty on our workmanship and 2 years warranty on components (less for some batteries).
The system you choose will depend on what car you have, what your power demands are and your budget. Generally speaking prices range from around $900 up to $1800 for a complete system fully installed.
Pricing examples are given bellow as a guide, the Land Cruiser and Pathfinder are extremes the Amarok is average. For a free exact quote call or email us with your cars make, model and year.
Toyota Land Cruiser 200 series
The 200 series has 2 starting batteries from factory, they can be separated with a Redarc Smart solenoid for a budget solution. With a Cigarette lighter socket in the back and a jump start button $507 (if you don't upgrade to a Deep cycle Auxiliary battery).
Dual battery system with one Anderson plug, using a Redarc Smart Solenoid and Supercharge MRV48 battery $1260.
Nissan Pathfinder R51/Navara D40
Due to their smart charge alternators Pathfinders require a DC-DC charger as opposed to a traditional isolator. Also due to their tightly packed engine bays the auxiliary battery must be mounted underneath the car. This makes the pathfinder one of the most expensive systems to build. With a Redarc 40amp DC-DC charger, Optima D34 Battery and a power socket in the back total price is $1753.
Trailer brake controllers
If you’re towing a large trailer, boat or caravan then chances are your car will need to be fitted with an electric trailer brake controller. We recommend using Australian made Redarc products for their simplicity, quality and proven reliability. Redarc's latest trailer brake controller the TowPro provides proportional braking with a concealed controller, so all you see on your dash board is one illuminated dial about the size of a five cent piece.
For customers with specialized or budget requirements we are happy to provide controllers from brands like Tekonsha or Sensa-Brake, or even install a controller you provide. But please note for safety reasons that concealed controllers are a must for cars with Knee airbags.
Redarc TowPro controller, $300
Tekonsha P3 controller, $265
Tekonsha Primus controller $117
Fitting is $300 (assuming you already have a trailer plug)
Live wire $60 (a live wire is a power supply to the trailer plug and is required for electric over hydraulic trailer brakes)
